ABOUT
LIVESTOCK SERVICES
Livestock Services Cooperative Society Limited (“Livestock Services” or the “Co-operative”) is a non-profit making organisation that was established by the Zambian farming community under the Co-operative Societies Act of Zambia in 1990.
The Co-operative was established with a vision to create:
A. Capability through training and development
B. Efficiency through technical support
C. Ability to be competitive through low-cost inputs
The above 3 focal elements form part of the Co-operative’s values which drive its mission and objectives. The Co-operative operates an Agro-Vet Shop which supplies quality livestock and agricultural products and services.
Livestock Services uses its business model in order to offer farmers value for their money and empowering them to succeed. This is achieved through the provision of free training and support to farmers in order to empower them with knowledge and efficacy. We support the farmers by providing extension services to help them create the efficiencies needed in their processes. Further, we invest in managing operations in an efficient manner which provides ability to price products at a low-cost to farmers.
The Co-operative is a proudly Zambian enterprise that exists to serve the needs of farmers across the spectrum and provide a consistently reliable service. Livestock Services has contributed immensely to the agricultural sector in Zambia and continues to do so by realising and achieving its vision on a daily basis. It is for this reason that approximately 20% of the Co-operative’s total cost stems from non-income generating activities such as the provision of free support services to the farmers.
