Business
Development
Business development and improvement is paramount and embedded in the Co-operative’s culture as this drives the sustainability of Livestock Services. The Co-operative is alive to the fact that it operates in a dynamic environment and therefore, needs to continuously innovate in order to keep providing a better and more cost-effective service.
Cognisant of the fact that making strides in the subsector requires concerted efforts, the Co- operative is in touch with several institutions as well as arms of government that are working to forward the agriculture and livestock agenda. We work together with these institutions and other social partners, with whom we share a cordial relationship in our efforts to increase the productivity of the Agriculture and Livestock sectors. Some of these partners, amongst others, include:
- MUSIKA
- Enhanced Smallholder Livestock Investment Programme (E-SLIP)
- University of Zambia
- Ministry of Agriculture
- Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock
- Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA)
- Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA)
- Veterinary Council of Zambia (VCZ)
We are continuously looking at ways in which we can increase our social impact across Zambia and the sub-region through creating new collaborations and linkages as well as developing the business model to continuously achieve our objectives. In 2019, the Co-operative established its first franchise business in Zambia’s Southern Province in the town of Mazabuka.
