On Wednesday, 26th August 2026, Livestock Services Cooperative Society Limited and the Veterinary Association of Zambia (VAZ) reached a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise collaboration in advancing Zambia’s animal health and livestock sector.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Eugene Bwalya, President of the Veterinary Association of Zambia, and Mr. Rene Lourens, General Manager of Livestock Services, marking the beginning of a structured partnership between two important institutions within Zambia’s veterinary and agricultural ecosystem.
The partnership focuses on five strategic areas:

VAZ serves as the professional body bringing together veterinary professionals and paraprofessionals across Zambia’s public and private sectors.
Livestock Services, meanwhile, brings 35 years of experience serving Zambian farmers, with a strong presence in the distribution of veterinary pharmaceuticals and agricultural inputs, alongside its expanding portfolio of livestock and agricultural services.
The MoU creates an opportunity to bring these complementary strengths together, connecting professional veterinary expertise with practical industry experience and farmer-facing services.
The partnership has the potential to strengthen collaboration across the veterinary profession, support continuous professional development, encourage research and knowledge exchange, and contribute to stronger animal health systems.
