A meaningful national engagement that strengthened visibility for Livestock Services and showcased Zambia’s livestock sector at the highest level.
On 8th March 2026, Livestock Services had the privilege of participating in the International Women’s Day March, organised by the Gender Division. Beyond being a celebration of women and their contributions to society, the event provided an important platform for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to national development and inclusive economic participation.
For Livestock Services, the occasion presented an opportunity to connect our work in the livestock sector with a broader national agenda that recognises the importance of agriculture, economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
As part of our participation, the team presented a specially curated gift package to the Guest of Honour, His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia.
Recognising His Excellency’s longstanding interest in agriculture and passion for cattle farming, Livestock Services selected a range of essential livestock management products to form part of the package. The gesture was carefully designed to reflect our core business while providing a meaningful representation of the products and services available within the livestock value chain.
The gift was exceptionally well received. His Excellency took time to acknowledge the products and engaged with the team on their relevance to cattle farming, sharing his own knowledge and interest in livestock-related products.
The positive reception of the gift demonstrated how thoughtful, purpose-driven engagement can create meaningful visibility for an organisation and its mandate.
For Livestock Services, the occasion reinforced an important message: livestock development is not separate from Zambia’s national development aspirations. It is a key component of food security, economic growth, employment, rural livelihoods and agricultural transformation.
The International Women’s Day March therefore became more than an event on the calendar. It became an opportunity for Livestock Services to showcase its contribution, build visibility and connect its work to the national conversation on agriculture and development.
